![]() Some parts of “Mumble rap culture” exceed music, and go on to something that Uzi is extremely notable for, this being his fashion sense. Songs like XO Tour Life, and Sauce It Up May leave you confused when listening to them back to back, wondering, “just what kind of artists is this guy?”. Uzi has a diverse range of music that is very noticeable when listening. He has a lot in his bag, from deep lyrics, great storytelling, flow, beats and more. Lil Uzi is one of my favorite mumble rappers in the game. So with a lack of influence and diversity, he falls this low on the list. Like 21 though, he hasn’t had the influence on the genre like others nor a wide array of music. You can tell rappers he’s taken influence from in his music and pin point exactly which part of their music he’s conducted into his own. These include “No Flocking”, “Tunnel Vision”, “Skrt” and many more. He was a XXL Freshman as well, and had had several singles from the day he started his career. Kodak is here one spot above 21 because he is hotter at the moment due to his “in and outs” of jail and court for several reasons, this giving way to a theory that he simply doesn’t know any other life besides the one of a jailbird and that despite his money and fame, he’s destined to be in and out of the system. He raps about “smoking broccoli” among other things that most mumble rappers seem to follow in a sort of trend. He does literally mumble and rap incoherent, as well as come off as an ignorant ass person. That doesn’t take away from anything I’m about to say. I’ve heard some call his voice annoying, and I’d have to agree quite frankly. Kodak Black is a rapper with a unique sound and voice. The “yeah”’s and “aye”’s, the array of ad libs and lack luster lyricism. With songs being extremely hot with his flow of the modern rapper. Fetty Wap is in the 10 spot, dropping from his bad status as a rapper currently, but being placed due to his influence. Okay, so now why Fetty Wap is here in this spot. The last big hit released by Fetty Wap was his single “Jimmy Choo” which debuted at 69 on the chart and gained much social media success. He’d be nominated for 2 Grammies and countless other awards for the single Trap Queen as well as several other singles. He’d drop his debut album headed by the 3 singles along with another, “again” which also had much popularity. Both would be radio hits and overplayed to hell. He’d sign a deal with 300 Ent and later drop 2 more singles, “679” and “My Way”. This song would be overplayed on the radio and social media, making many grow to dislike the song. In his debut single, “Trap Queen” he was able to elevate himself to number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015. While he hasn’t dropped much music notable enough to make his return to radio, he has a great amount of influence on the sub genre. That may be a name you haven’t heard since 2016. Feel free to make either a blog or comment response to this one.įetty Wap. I’m interested in your opinion and would be more than glad to read your lists. I’ll tell you where I’d rank them, and if they’d make this list in my opinion. If there is anyone you think I forgot, just leave comment and let me know. Not saying mumble rap can’t be deep, nor diverse. I can’t listen to every rapper in the world, and despite widening my horizons to find more underground rappers, I have yet and am unlikely to ever come across many rappers of the sub genre.įar too deep as well as diverse in his music. Obviously there are a lot of great mumble rappers that Just because he yells and seems mentally challenged, doesn’t mean he’s a Mumble rapper. He did often mumble and rap incoherently, but I don’t want to call him a Mumble rapper despite being a heavy early influencer. I’ve never really seen him as, nor referred to as a Mumble rapper but thought I’d say this. If that makes any sense.įinally, I wanna say that this list is based on current and overall influence. In essence, Mumble rap doesn’t mean that you rap unintelligent-able, but rapping unintelligent-able does make you a Mumble rapper. I also want to state that I do not completely agree with the Wikipedia description of Mumble Rap, nor does Mumble Rap intel literal mumbling of incoherent bars. I also want to get this across, this is based on my opinion, and although you may see them as biased, I will give valid reasons and hey, it may even surprise you! Before I start this blog, I wanna say good luck to all the ORBL teams and that I hope for a great inaugural season. ![]() Yo, R&HH, NORF back with another blog based around opinions.
